1948 Pontiac Silverstreak from South Africa

Hello from a new arrival on the American car scene.
I am currently restoring 1948 Pontiac Silverstreak. This is an original South African assembled right hand drive car, and there's my problem. I am having to replace or remake some parts of the steering, some of which are unique to the right hand drive model. Some horrendous bodged repairs have been carried out in the past, I suspect by shoe horning in a centre link tube designed for left hand drive. I know that there are some other of these South African built cars in the country and I would dearly love to be able to crawl under one with my tape measure and camera. I would very grateful to hear from anyone who owns one of these cars or knows where I can find one. My telephone number is 07771 782732 or email stephen@ginnetts.freeserve.co.uk
All the best
Stephen
